Niko Kounenakis – Director, ECES

A former Premier League veteran and UEFA competitor, Niko Kounenakis brings over 20 years of elite experience as a professional player, captain, and coach. His playing career includes stints with OFI FC (Greece), Anderlecht (Belgium), Aris Limassol (Cyprus), and Sporting Kansas City (MLS), as well as appearances in the UEFA Cup, Champions League, and Intertoto Cup. A former U-22 Greek National Team and Olympic Team member, Niko also captained OFI FC.

Transitioning into coaching, Niko has held key roles with SK Slovan Bratislava (Europa League qualification, Slovakian League & Cup runner-up), Montreal Impact (MLS) (Cup Winners, Concacaf Champions League qualification), and OFI FC in the Greek Premier League.

As Director of ECES, Niko leverages his global background to design and deliver transformative athlete development programs. His approach blends advanced performance science, mental coaching, and leadership development, helping athletes reach their potential both on and off the field. Based in Europe and the U.S., ECES offers athlete assessments, international training camps, and professional pathway programs across Europe and North America
